Farm & Food 4.0 and SmartHectar Innovation present a new program format for agriculture and food industry. Pioneering AgTech brings together groundbreaking international startups and established agri-food businesses to identify new products and technologies. The goal of Pioneering AgTech is to guide the agri-food corporates through open innovation and collaboration with startups. The program will take place on September 20-21 in Berlin’s Factory hub.
Pioneering AgTech offers a match-making between ten industry companies and ten scouted seed stage startups. On September 20th the program will introduce participants to the best practices of co-creation and equip them with the necessary tools and know-how to perform it. Startups will also pitch their innovative solutions. On the following day, ten pairs of corporate-startup participants will put this knowledge into practice with the help of moderators and feedback from the audience. The keynote speakers include: Dr. Alexander Wiegelmann, Vice President of KWS, Fabio Ziemßen, Director of NX-FOOD (METRO), Daniel Duarte, CEO of Koakult (Koawach), and Pavlos Kalaitzoglou, Director of Plant Research at INFARM.
A collaboration between corporates and startups has already been identified as a business-critical investment. “A significant 82% of large companies now view interactions with startups as important, and 23% say it is ‘mission critical’ to their business” (MassChallenge and Imaginatik report). According to 2017 Unilever Foundry report, “80% of corporates believe startups can have a positive impact on a company’s approach to corporate innovation.”
Pioneering AgTech is an innovative program designed for agriculture and food companies that want to learn how to benefit from working with startups, or to improve this process.
Tickets are available for 10 industry participants (2 people per company) and 40 attendees from the agri-food and technology sectors. Early bird tickets are available until July 31st. Startups interested in participating in the program should register through the SmartHectar database.
