Press Release, Atlanta, GA: Urban Agriculture’s global, national and local thought-leaders will convene in Atlanta on April 14th, and 15th, to tour of best-in-class operations, showcase new innovations, and present on a variety of business and community building methods that ensure a food resilient city. The conference is organized by Agritecture and AgTech X for it’s 3rd year, and is expecting 350 attendees representing a wide range of disciplines including urban planners, architects, entrepreneurs, investors, technologists, business owners, and farmers for this unique knowledge-sharing opportunity.

“In short order, The AgLanta Conference has established itself as the vanguard convening of community and industry leaders working to strengthen the resilience of local food systems,” says Mario Cambardella, the Director of Urban Agriculture with the Mayor’s Office of Resilience.

This year’s theme, Innovation & Entrepreneurship, will highlight the three stages entrepreneurs face as they navigate this dynamic landscape: Create, Pilot, Grow.

Day 1 of the AgLanta Conference will feature 5 tour tracks with a total of 16 sites. Attendees will travel metro Atlanta touring various farms and businesses showcasing the diversity of urban agriculture approaches. The day of tours will culminate with a special networking event at the Atlanta BeltLine’s newest collaborative think space, Generator, with keynote from Ryan Gravel.

Day 2 features over 30 urban agricultural leaders discussing their unique models, challenges overcome, near and far future opportunities, and much more. Speakers will represent early-stage organizations all the way up to more established, growth-stage businesses, as well as investors and key local resource providers.

Attendees can expect to learn about other critical aspects to the development of sustainable urban food systems: from circular economy applications, to the development of agrihoods, to the role of accessible data. Christine Gould of Thought For Food (TFF) will deliver a special keynote on how the future of urban agriculture fits within the global food innovation movement that TFF is helping to usher in.
