VOTE NOW for a farm in your community!

MONTEREY, CA (January 2018) – National produce distributor PRO*ACT has opened voting for its farm grant program, Cultivating Change. A total of $75,000 in funding will be awarded to local farms with the most votes through January 31, 2018. Winners will be announced on February 5, 2018.

The annual grant program demonstrates PRO*ACT’s commitment to creating a sustainable produce supply chain from seed to fork. Recently, more than 100 farmers across more than 30 states applied for these funds to invest in sustainability efforts and grow their overall capacity.

Supporters can vote for the most deserving projects by going to Cultivatingchange.org and reviewing local farm applications.

At the end of this grant cycle, PRO*ACT will have invested $200,000 in local farms from coast to coast. Those funds have enabled past winners to achieve sustainability goals such as installing rainwater collection systems, building sustainable greenhouse operations, and launching farm-to-school programs.

“The popular vote is crucial to the success of the Cultivating Change grant program. It ensures we hear directly from local communities where these farms have the greatest impact today and for future generations of farmers.”, said Max Yeater, PRO*ACT President and CEO.

PRO*ACT’s sustainability program, Greener Fields Together launched the Cultivating Change grant program in 2015. In just two years, the funding has positively impacted more than twenty farms.
