Its Sunday evening and I am on a flight headed to Las Vegas, Nevada. Fortunately, I will be skipping the Strip, the mega hotels and the casinos. Instead I will be headed downtown for a intense week at Indoor Ag-Con. My week will include being a judge at the Agritecture Workshop with Dr. Dickson Despommier, moderating a presentation given by my friend Dr. Gene Giacomelli from the University of Arizona’s Controlled Environment Agriculture Center and sitting on a panel to discuss “How should we go about designing our indoor farm?” with the Technical Team from Crop King. Its going to be a great week that I am sure will challenge and inspire me. Make sure that you follow along via social media. (You can follow me on twitter @urbanagnews and watch for #indooragcon.)
UrbanAgNews.com will also be launching Issue 9 of our eMagazine this week. This is our largest Issue to date, with almost twice the content as before. Make sure to watch your emails for your link to learn about a innovative Vertical Farm in Seattle, Tips on Growing Hydroponic Lettuce and Keys to Growing Greenhouse Strawberries. As always we have also included many amazing videos from around the world and new this Issue we are including reprints from scientific journals that we think you (our readers) are going to find useful and educational. If you are not on our mailing list you can register to receive the latest news here https://urbanagnews.com/subscribe.
Finally, don’t forget to sign up for the 2015 International Congress on Controlled Environment Agriculture in Panama. Everything is almost finalized and the speaker and panel sessions will be outstanding. If you are interesting in controlled environment agriculture (which includes commercial greenhouse vegetable production and vertical farming) make sure you take advantage of this unique learning opportunity.
