Busy Spring for Controlled Environment Ag

Events

The next few of months are shaping up to be an amazing spring if you are interested in learning about opportunities, ideas, innovations, inspirations and techniques that will ultimately shape the way we grow, ship and eat fresh produce.

UrbanAgNews.com will take complete advantage of these opportunities by attending 3 events that focus on innovation of the food delivery and production system.

The first event will be TEDx Manhattan in New York City, New York. TEDx Manhattan began in 2011 and is focused on “Changing the Way We Eat.” This years event is on March 7th and will feature a wide variety of speakers. Top on our list to see is Danielle Nierenberg (President of Food Tank and an expert on sustainable agriculture and food issues), Marcel Van Ooyen (Executive Director of GrowNYC and former Legislative Director for the New York City Council) and Shen Tong (one of Newsweek’s People of the Year in 1989, Shen Tong was an organizer of the democracy movement in 1989 that occupied Tiananmen Square while he was at Beijing University.) UrbanAgNews.com will be keeping you up to date via Twitter all day. Follow us at https://twitter.com/UrbanAgNews.

The second event will be IndoorAgCon in Las Vegas Nevada. The 3rd Annual Indoor Agriculture Conference will feature two full days of presentations and discussions from both industry and non-industry leading speakers. There will also be a chance to meet many of the companies focused on creating the future of indoor agriculture. I will personally be participating in the conference, the exhibitor area (come see and meet the Hort Americas team) and the Agritecture integrated design workshop with Dickson Despommier.

The third event will be the 2015 International Congress on Controlled Environment Agriculture in Panama City, Panama. The ICCEA will focused on knowledge, technology and information that growers and investors need to understand either before building or while they are running a successful greenhouse, vertical farm or plant factory that produces food crops. The ICCEA has already attracted some key players in controlled environment ag industry inlcuding:
